Meet the Tanks – M4A3

Second in a series of posts introducing the playable tank models for ArmCom. Six variants of the M4A3 Medium tank are included. The M4A3 had a welded hull like the M4, but was fitted with a Ford V8 engine, giving it greater power and speed.

M4A3 medium Tank – Turret A

Early version of the M4A3, lacks a loader hatch, etc.

M4A3 medium Tank – Turret B

Same as Turret A above with the addition of a loader hatch and a smoke mortar.

M4A3 medium Tank – Turret C

Same as Turret B above with the addition of a vision cupola for the Commander.

M4A3 medium Tank – Turret D

This model of M4A3 has substantially better front hull armour than earlier versions of the M4A3, and has the benefit of wet ammo stowage, reducing the chance that a penetrating hit on the tank will cause an explosion.

Same as Turret D above but with the possibility of Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension from November 1944 onwards. HVSS adds a bonus to movement rolls.
