The Proof of Concept for ArmCom2 is coming along nicely. I’ve changed the terrain generation slightly and added a few more tile types, the result is a nice-looking if quite bare battlefield. Right now the player can move their single tank around, and although there’s an enemy unit on the board, it can’t act yet.
Next step is to program weapon systems and allow the player to use them during the shooting phase, after which I’ll add a very basic AI system for controlling enemy units. At first this will likely be limited to defensive fire but will eventually be comprehensive. Friendly units under the player’s control and enemy units will be controlled by the same AI system, to the point of the AI controller sending ‘orders’ to its units in the same way as the player will be able to.
